AMS Gandhi Centenary High School
AMS Gandhi Centenary High School
Andhra Mahila Sabha founded Gandhi Centenary High School in Sangareddy in 1969, birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. Sri.P.V.Narasimha Rao then Education Minister of Government of Andhra Pradesh laid the foundation stone. At that time it was the only English Medium School in Sangareddy and the collectors used to be Chairmen of the school Administrative Committee.
Over the years the building became dilapidated and it became difficult to conduct classes. Smt.N.Usha Reddy was moved by the pathetic conditions of the building. So she came forward to construct a new school building during Platinum Jubilee year. She kept her word by spending about Rs.1 crore from her family Trust M/s.Anand Swaroop Reddy Foundation, for not only construction of the building with modern toilets but also provided the class rooms with furniture and other equipment. The new building was inaugurated by Sri.T.Harish Rao, Minister for Major Irrigation of Telangana Government during August, 2014. It changed the ambivalence of the school and is attracting students to the school.
